This image depicts a posterior view of a patient’s torso, who had presented with a case of coccidioidomycosis , also known as valley fever, caused by the fungal organism, Coccidioides immitis. At this point, this patient had yet to begin treatment with amphotericin B, and if you look at PHIL 50223, you’ll be able to see how these lesions responded to the medicinal therapy.
