This image depicted a posterior view of a patient’s torso, who had presented with a case of coccidioidomycosis , also known as valley fever, caused by the fungal organism, Coccidioides immitis. At this point, the patient had yet to begin treatment with amphotericin B. If you look at PHIL 50223, you will be able to see how these lesions responded to the medicinal therapy.
