Under a very low magnification of 2.5X, this photograph depicts a close view of a Petri dish culture plate, upon which a number of colonies of Bacillus anthracis bacteria had been cultivated. You’ll note that although these are all grown from bacteria from the same culture, the colonies exhibit varying morphologic characteristics.
