Viewed under a magnification of 365X, this Petri dish culture plate contained a growth medium of brain-heart infusion (BHI) agar, which had been inoculated with a culture of Propionibacterium acnes, formerly known as Corynebacterium acnes, and in turn, had produced these round, scalloped edged colonies.
