This is a close view of the right side of a Nigerian patient’s mouth, enabling you to see a cutaneous, through-and-through lesion, involving the corner, or angle of the mouth, which was determined to be a condition known as cancrum oris, also referred to as noma, fusospirochetal gangrene, necrotizing ulcerative stomatitis, and stomatitis gangrenosa.
