Under a magnification of 500X, this photomicrograph of a KOH (potassium hydroxide)-prepared skin scrapping specimen, from a patient with a case of candidiasis, also known as moniliasis, revealed some of the ultrastructural morphology exhibited by the fungal organism, Candida albicans.
