This historic image from the summer of 1966 was captured during an Aedes aegypti mosquito eradication operation, which was being carried out in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Here, you can see five parked trucks, which had been equipped with a mosquito insecticide spray tank that had been labeled Aedes aegypti Eradication Project, and a spray mechanism. Each truck displayed writing on its doors indicting that these were U.S. Government vehicles, and that they were part of the Entomology Motor Pool.
