This image was captured just outside the gates of Kagadi Hospital in the Kibaale District of Uganda during the country’s 2012, Ebola outbreak. Pictured here, was a white truck being driven from the hospital premises that displayed the words on its driver side door, “Infectious Diseases Institute, Makerere University”. The University played an important role in the epidemiologic study and control, during the Ebola outbreak investigation. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), it was inside the Kibaale District that the 2012, Ugandan Ebola outbreak began.
