This gathering took place in Uganda, during the country’s July - August 2012, Ebola outbreak, and showed a number of authoritative epidemiologists discussing their investigative findings regarding the spread of the Ebola virus. Attendees included from left to right, former ABC Chief Health and Medical editor, and former Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director, Dr. Richard Besser, CDC Deputy Branch Chief of the Viral Special Pathogens Branch, and Director of World Health Organization’s (WHO) Collaborative Center for Viral Hemorrhagic Fevers, Dr. Pierre Rollin, standing in the background was Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) Officer, Dr. Ilana Schafer, seated CDC Epidemiologist, Dr. Trevor Shoemaker, and at far right was EIS Officer, Dr. Barbara Knust.
