Captured in the village of Lugga Fulani, in the Zamfara state of Nigeria, September, 2012, this image depicts a group of Nigerian children playing on a muddy riverbank, digging holes, and making mud puddles. The photograph was taken while monitoring, and evaluating the impact of Immunization Plus Days (IPDs) in this nomadic settlement. The image was submitted by Nigerian Field Epidemiology Training Program (NFETP) resident, Aishatu Abubakar-Sadiq.

According to the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), “Immunization “Plus” refers to the delivery of a set of essential and cost-effective maternal and child health interventions.
