Captured in Liberia, during the country’s 2014 Ebola epidemic, this photograph depicted a group of Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) residents, who had been deployed from Egypt, in order to assist in the Ebola outbreak response. Together, they, and these residents, met with the village chief, and community members of Shuen Mecca, in Bomi County, in order to teach them how to respond to questions about Ebola, and to explain how a young Ebola survivor, who was completely free of Ebola, should be received by the community. Here, community members are seen as they were welcoming the Ebola survivor back into their village.
