Photographed in 2014, in the capital city of Shimla, inside the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, this image depicted a group portrait, which included eight school children, who attend the Central School of Jakhoo Hills, as they displayed posters they had created during a rabies poster competition in September, 2014. Standing behind the children, were graduate residents of India’s Field Epidemiologic Training Program (FETP), whose duties included the education of children like these, on the subject of animal bites, bite first aid, and vaccination procedures used to combat rabies.
