The torso of this young West African child exhibited numerous, small lesions determined to have been the result of a generalized herpes simplex infection. This is the same child as depicted in PHIL 19562, 19563, 19564, but captured at a later time, when the rash had further spread. Initially, the papules manifested upon the child’s upper right arm, shoulder and back.
