Caption:
The right upper arm of this young West African child exhibited a vesiculopapular lesion, which was surrounded by numerous smaller lesions, including s few on his chest and shoulder, determined to have been the result of a generalized herpes simplex infection. This is the same child as depicted in PHIL 19562, and 19563, but captured at a later time, when the rash had spread about his arm. Also see PHIL 19565, for a view showing how the herpes rash had spread to the child’s torso.
