Caption:
This photomicrograph of a Papanicolaou test, or Pap test, revealed findings indicative of a positive result for the presence of atypical squamous cell dysplasia, in this case, referred to as a high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (HSIL). Compare the morphology seen here, to PHIL 19476, which was designated as squamous cells of undetermined significance (ASCUS), exhibiting less dysplastic changes.
