This photomicrograph reveals some of the histopathology seen in a bone marrow specimen extracted from a patient diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Also referred to as acute myeloblastic leukemia, you will note an overabundance of abnormal immature white blood cells. This sample was harvested prior to the introduction of any form of treatment regimen.
