Entitled, “Hurricane Katrina,New Orleans”, this image depicts National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Investigators Loren Tapp, and Steve Lee, while they were observing work in the Superdome, as CDC’s multidisciplinary team was assisting with Hurricane Katrina relief efforts in New Orleans, by restoring health services, and assessing public health threats. Photographer Aaron Sussell, MPH CIH, with the NIOSH, was the First Place winner in the 2006 CDC Connects Annual Public Health in Action Photo Contest, in the category of “Domestic Category: People”.
