Under a magnification of 240X, this photomicrograph revealed ultrastructural details exhibited by a ruptured cleistothecium, or ascocarp, as it was in the process of releasing its contents of ascospores. This particular fruiting body, belonged to the fungal organism, Pseudallescheria boydii>, which is also known as Petriellidium boydii, and Allescheria boydii.
