This image was captured during January-February, 1975, in the Bhojpur District of the East India State of Bihar. It depicts a confectionary stall, which was serving various local delicacies. A robed man, probably the owner, was seated in the background, observing the activities of patrons in his humble shop, which mainly consisted of a large wood-plank table that had been set with various sized capped jars and platters displaying his offerings. The photograph was captured by a Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Bureau of State Services staff member, during one of the smallpox immunization-related trips to that region of the world.
