Caption:
This image depicts close view of a female patient’s perineum. The patient had presented to a clinical setting exhibiting numerous mucocutaneous lesions over her body, including the thighs, lower abdomen and perineum, which was determined to be caused by a disseminated pemphigus infection. Note the loss of skin layers atop the lesions, and how the larger lesions were coalescing, forming amorphous erythematous patches.
