Under a magnification of 1000X, this photomicrograph of a blood smear, revealed the presence of two leukocytes, or white blood cells (WBCs), specifically known as a lymphocyte (arrowhead), and a polymorphonuclear leukocyte (PMN), more specifically known as a neutrophil. These WBCs were surrounded by numbers of normal red blood cells (RBCs), also referred to as erythrocytes.
