Caption: This image depicts the face and chest of a child, who had leukemia, and had secondarily contracted chickenpox, which manifested, as this severe, generalized maculopapular rash. The severity of this patient’s outbreak was greatly increased, due to his leukemia induced, lowered immune response to the varicella-zoster virus (VZV).
