This image depicts an inferior view of a hamster, from head to toes. As you can see, the animal exhibited cutaneous lesions on its nose, all four distal extremities, and perineum, which had been caused by the obligate intracellular protozoan, Leishmania braziliensis. See PHIL 18871 and 18872, for two additional views of this condition.
