This image depicts an anterior view of a Panamanian man’s face. The man had presented to a clinical setting exhibiting symptoms indicative of a case of cutaneous leishmaniasis involving his face, producing a wrinkled, burnished skin surface. This condition was caused by an obligate intracellular parasitic protozoa of the genus, Leishmania.
