This was a urease test performed in order to determine the taxonomic identification of Mycobacterium spp. bacteria. If a pink color develops, as was the case in tubes #1, 2, 3, and 4, activity is present, and the test is determined to be positive. If there is no color change, or the color changes to yellow, then urease activity is absent, and the test is determined to be negative.
