This man presented to a clinical setting in Guatemala, Central America exhibiting a maculopapular cutaneous rash on his chest, which was determined to be due to a case of typhus fever, also referred to as epidemic louse-borne typhus, caused by the bacterium, Rickettsia prowazekii. See PHIL 18838, for a view of this individual's torso from behind, clearly delineating the skin rash.
