This was a urease test, performed in order to determine the taxonomic identification of Mycobacterium spp. bacteria. Regarding the results, if a pink color develops, as was the case in tubes #2 and 4, activity was present, and the test was designated as positive. If there is no color change, or the color changes to yellow, as in the case of tubes #1 and 3, then urease activity was absent, and the test was designated as negative.
