These two test tubes contained the same unknown growth medium, each of which had been inoculated with a different species of aerobic, Streptomyces bacteria, producing two morphologically different colonial growth patterns. Note that the colonial growth exhibited by the colony at left was courser, smaller, and yellowish-beige in color, while the colony on the right was much larger, and not quite as course, though still roughly textured, and stark-white, devoid of color.
