Under a magnification of 200X, this photomicrograph of a Gram-stained brain tissue specimen, revealed the presence of a chronic inflammatory sulfur granule in a case of actinomycosis, caused by a Gram-positive, fungus-like aerobic bacterium of the genus, Actinomyces.
