This 1975 image, depicted Ed Biel, former Chief of the former Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Graphics Department, seated at his drawing table, as he was in the process of creating illustrative artwork for CDC in-house clients. At the time of this photograph, Mr. Biel’s office was located on the CDC’s Chamblee Campus, situated in Chamblee, Georgia, a metropolitan Atlanta suburb, located Northeast of downtown Atlanta, and which has undergone tremendous renovations to its architectural elements over the last decade, i.e., 2000 through 2010. In fact, the office in which this photograph was captured no longer exists.
