Under a magnification of 950X, this photomicrograph of a rat blood smear, revealed the effects of a light, Mycoplasma haemomuris, formerly known as Haemobartonella muris infection. M. haemomuris is an extracellular parasite, which attacks the cell wall of rat erythrocytes, thereby, causing anemia.
