This image depicts the reverse side of two slant tube cultures containing a growth medium of Sabouraud dextrose agar, which had been inoculated with the dermatophytic fungal organism, Trichophyton verrucosum. The image was captured 10-days post-inoculation, and revealed the beginnings of colonial growth, when colonial morphologic characteristics had begun to develop.
