This image depicted a very close, anterior view of a patient’s left inguinal region, highlighting the presence of an enlarged inguinal lymph node, also known as a bubo, which had been diagnosed as a sexually-transmitted lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV) infection, caused by the bacterium, Chlamydia trachomatis.
