This posteroanterior (PA) chest x-ray was captured on the 13th day of a case of inhalation anthrax, caused by the bacterium, Bacillus anthracis. Note the presence of a widened mediastinum, and pleural effusion greater on the right, radiographic characteristics found in the case of inhalation anthrax.
