Caption:
This image depicts a photomicrographic comparison between an unstained specimen on the left, and an iodine stained specimen on the right. Using these two fixation methods, you can see some of the ultrastructural morphologic details exhibited by the nonpathologic protozoan, Pentatrichomonas hominis, formerly known as Trichomonas hominis, including the organism’s flagella, nucleus, and undulating cell membrane.
