This image highlighted a cutaneous lesion that was found on the inner surface of a rabbit’s ear. The lesion was diagnosed as a ringworm infection that had been caused by the dermatophytic fungal organism, Trichophyton verrucosum. Note the appearance of the lesion, which exhibited a crusty, raised, roughened surface, characteristic of this type of dermatophytic cutaneous infection.
