Caption:
Under a magnification of 1000X, this photomicrograph of a skin tissue sample, highlighted a region in which a cluster of capillaries could be visualized. Note that these delicate vessels exhibited a circumferential vessel wall with a thickness of only a single epithelial cell. Within their lumens, you will note the presence of numerous round erythrocytes, or red blood cells (RBCs). See PHIL 17564 and 17565, for enlargements of small regions of this micrograph.
