This trichrome-stained photomicrograph revealed a parasitic Entamoeba histolytica trophozoite that contained a single round nucleus within which you can see peripherally-situated chromatin, and a centrally-located karyosome. Also, note the presence of numbers of vacuoles within the organism’s cytoplasm.
