Caption:
Captured in 1977, this historic image depicted a young girl in Northern India, who was seated on the ground next to a cache of paraphernalia she used when making false teeth for her clients. Note the lack of environmental sterility surrounding a process that has the potential of creating trauma inside the oral cavity with ensuing gingival bleeding. Note that the instruments used in the production of this girl’s dental prosthetics, may not have been sterilized, prior to each use.
