This image from January-February 1975, depicted a village scene said to have taken place somewhere in the Bhojpur District of the Indian State of Bihar, captured by a Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Bureau of State Services staff member during one of the smallpox immunization related trips to that region of the world. In this particular scene, a weary mother was nursing her smallpox infected young baby. This child was one of the last to fall, victim to this dreaded disease in India.
