This patient presented with a ringworm infection of the scalp, also known as tinea capitis, caused by the dermatophytic fungal organism of the genus, Trichophyton, and is therefore, referred to as trichophytosis. This young boy was an inhabitant of the settlement known as Duboka, now located in Croatia, but what was formerly located in Yugoslavia.
