Photographed somewhere in Northern India, this image from 1974, depicted two men, who were in the process of obtaining a quantity of uncontaminated drinking water by pouring some locally obtained water from a nearby natural source, through a piece of cloth, thereby, filtering out much of the dirt and debris. The picture was created during an expedition by Centers for Disease Control (CDC) personnel sent to the region, in order to capture native primates to be brought back to United States based breeding colonies. After its filtration, this now potable water was ingested by both other members of the expedition, as well as captured monkeys.
