This image depicted a superior view of the scalp of a Yugoslavian boy, which exhibited a number of white, crusty lesions, that had been diagnosed as a case of tinea capitis, due to an undisclosed dermatophytic fungal organism. Note how the lesions had become denuded of scalp hairs, one of the features of this fungal infection.
