Caption:
This fundoscopic view of a human eye, revealed pathologic changes affecting the retina. Of note, are the areas of hyperpigmentation, and hypopigmentation, indicative of a condition known as salt-and-pepper retinopathy of rubella, acquired when this patient’s mother contracted rubella during her pregnancy. See PHIL 16449 and 16450, for two fundoscopic views, revealing two additional cases of congenital pigmentary retinopathy, one to a lesser degree, and one to a greater degree respectively.
