Captured inside an exam room inside an ophthalmologist’s office during a patient examination, this photograph depicts some of the optometric instruments in the repertoire of devices used by eye care specialists, when performing eye examinations. In the background, you will note an instrument known as a phoropter, which contains an array of lenses used in combination when testing a patient’s eyesight. In the foreground, a slit lamp was positioned, revealing its binocular eyepiece, through which the physician would examine the patient’s eye using a sliver of light projected into the eye’s interior.
