This image depicts a close view of a female patient’s perineum, highlighting a cutaneous vulvar lesion, specifically on the left inner labium majorum, which had been due to what was diagnosed, as a case of secondary syphilis, caused by the bacterial spirochete, Treponema pallidum. This is the same patient, whose palmar lesions, are depicted in PHIL 3476.
