This image depicts a close view of a Petri dish culture plate that contained a blood agar growth medium, which had been inoculated with the Gram-positive bacterium, Gemella morbillorum, formerly referred to as Streptococcus morbillorum, and before that, it was briefly named Peptostreptococcus morbillorum. Note the presence of numerous, small, round colonies that resulted after plate incubation.
