These two test tubes contained the same unknown growth medium, each of which had been inoculated with a different species of Streptomyces bacterium, producing two morphologically different colonial growth patterns. The colonial granularity produced by the species on the left, was much courser than its cousin at right, and was lighter in its coloration as well.
