This image depicts a close view of a child’s face, highlighting the region of his left eye, where you can see a cutaneous lesion beneath, and just lateral to the patient’s left eyelid. After having performed appropriate tests, this condition proved to be a fungal infection known as sporotrichosis, caused by the fungal organism, Sporothrix schenckii.
