This image depicts a close ventral view of a patient’s right thumb, revealed a lesion that was not well demarcated, which was diagnosed as a sporotrichosis infection, due to the fungal organism, Sporothrix schenckii. If you look closely, you will be able to see the blotchy, red cutaneous discoloration of the distal thumb.
