Caption:
This photograph depicted a close view of a penis, highlighting a lesion on the penile shaft, that was accompanied by generalized inguinal, and groin erythema. Through the process of a differential diagnosis, it was determined that these findings had occurred as a result of a chancroid infection, and not syphilis, as first thought. Chancroid is caused by the bacterium, Haemophilus ducreyi.
